Go and watch the artifacts of Busan in a special exhibition.

From October 23rd to December 6th, the 2020 Special Exhibition “Relics of Ancient Busan in the Byeonhan peoriod “ is held in Bokcheon Museum which is located in Dongrae-gu. This special exhibition organized the remains and artifacts of the *Samhan period(Mahan, Jinhan, Byeonhan) in Busan that have been excavated so far and introduces the research results.

In this exhibition, more than 200 representative artifacts from the Samhan period will be unveiled, including glass jade ornaments from the Nopo-dong site and ironware. These artifacts are excavated from the *Dutnul tomb and the Nul tomb in Dongrae-gu, Geumjeong-gu, and Gijang-gu. It has a big historical value because it was the first time to produce the new shape of Wazil-pottery and ironwares. Through the exhibition, I directly observed the artifacts and admired delicate and exquisite technology of our ancestors. Especially, some relics like the Pocket-shaped Pottery and Attached-rim Pottery were exhibited at the Museum of Pusan National University, so I feel the pride of my university. Also, data showing the shape of Dutnul tomb and Nul tomb were provided, as well as video clips showing the distribution of historical sites and characteristics of relics in the Samhan Period, which further enhanced understanding of the culture of that time. On the other hand, you can enjoy the exhibition online through the website of the Bockcheon Museum and videos uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Bockcheon Museum.

If you visit and watch some artifacts in the Samhan Period that you saw in history books and think about the meanings of this exhibition, it will be a great experience for you. So, don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the history of Busan, the home of your University, through observing the artifacts from the Samhan Period.
