The new culture hub for Busan citizens is now opened.
On November 4th, the Busan Metropolitan Library was opened in Sasang-gu. It is the first library in Busan directly controlled by the government. It is consists of a second basement level to fourth floors.

A1. The Busan Metropolitan Library is a representative local library of our city and is a control tower that implements the policies of other Busan regional libraries. To be specific, the main difference between the Busan Metropolitan Library and libraries in other cities is that the Busan Metropolitan Library pushes policies which encompasses both the Office of Education and district and county libraries. Most of the representative libraries only serve as representing relevant ministries. On the other hand, the Busan Metropolitan Library is carrying out various projects to integrate not only the Office of Education but also district and county libraries.
Q2. What is the strength of the Busan Metropolitan Library?
A2. There is a specialized data room called Busan Ae-Tteul which has Busan publishers, Busan authors, and Busan city’s publications. As such, our library is a complex cultural hub where individuals can read books along with a cultural space where performances and exhibitions are hold.

A3. There are cultural programs and events posted on the Busan Metropolitan City website, including events from other Busan libraries.
