PNU students held some promotional collaboration campaigns of World EXPO 2030 Busan and PNU.

A special promotional event is being held at Pusan National University (PNU) to host the “World EXPO 2030 Busan Korea” which is the main event in Busan.

PNU supporters from the World EXPO 2030 Busan Korea bid committee announced that the “World EXPO 2030 Busan Korea X PNU promotional campaign” will be held in PNU for three months, from March to May. The committee was established in 2015, recruited supporters mainly college students in Pusan last October, and PNU supporters are working actively.

The campus prepared with Insta-toon (Instagram Cartoon) series, photo events with Sanjinee and Boogi, and promotional booths. Sanjinee, the PNU mascot, and Boogi, the representative character of Busan, will appear all over the campus. At the bus stop in front of PNU subway station, exit 3, they are guiding students from March 16th, and they will eat in Geumjeong Hall(March 23rd) and enjoy seeing cherry blossoms together(April 1st). Then, they will hold a snack giveaway event near SaeBeokBeol Library or do a day job at the PNU mall. A “Photo event” will be held and students who upload the photos taken with Sanjinee and Boogi with hashtags on Instagram (@23bu_pnu) will be given a special prize. 

The BSU Insta-toon which shows how Sanjinee and Boogi met and became close, is posted serially online. Bang So-Yoon (20, Dept. of Japanese Language & Literature), the supporters of this project, said, “We prepared the event by using attractions favored by students the most and we will set the mood of support for hosting with students”.

The "Busan vs World EXPO” promotional booth is established to urge students to pay attention to Busan EXPO. Jo Sung-Won (21, Dept. of Design), the supporters of this project, said, “Due to the World EXPO 2030 Busan Korea, it is expected to create 500,000 new jobs, spark 43 trillion won worth of production and cause added value of 18 trillion won. Then, the young generation in Busan will be benefited. I hope that PNU leads the future where local talented men and women show their ability in Busan, not in other regions.”
