A laboratory in the College of Mechanical Engineering at Pusan National University (PNU) was recently on fire. According to the fire station, the fire caused damage of more than 20 million won.

At about 7:20 AM on May 13th, The College of Mechanical Engineering of PNU reported a fire broke out in the audio and noise control laboratory on the sixth floor of the building.

No casualties occurred because the fire occurred in the early hours of the morning. When it comes to a leader of the administrative office, the student who was working in the laboratory at the time first reported the fire, which was extinguished in 15 minutes.

The web server room, where tens of computers run through the night, was the place on fire. The water from the sprinkler that worked due to the fire-damaged broke down internal devices. The College of Mechanical Engineering is working all out to restore damaged systems, including disassembling and drying internal components.

The police are investigating the cause of the fire in the computer center near the laboratory. A leader of the administrative office said,” We think by ourselves that the overload ability of computers is the main cause of the fire, and it will take a month to know the conclusions reached by a forensics team.”
