Q. The mission statement is “I Put the SEJUNG Spirit into Each and Every Product.” What does it mean?

A. “Perfect products lead to customer satisfaction.” This is an everlasting principle since I started from scratch and then have been growing the company until currently. To create an impeccable item, I think it’s impossible to work with a passive attitude. Therefore, “I Put the SEJUNG Spirit into Each and Every Product.” This is my point.

I’m a president of a company but still participate in design development in a hands-on field, often meet distributors of agencies, and share ideas with them. Additionally, I force employees to have grit and guts. Based on that, excellent technical skills and product quality are the resources for customer satisfaction. I think it caused the company to currently grow.

Q. What is the image of the qualified employee of “SEJUNG” as a president?

A. “Perfect products lead to customer satisfaction.” This is not just our mission statement but also a value that I’ve always emphasized to employees. It means that they need to pour their passion into all products and service quality, and this leads to respectable results when it’s delivered to customers. I want talented individuals who will make the best results with passion.

Q. What are the differences between “SEJUNG” and other companies?

A. We have an old history but a very young culture. That’s because we are dealing with a business that is sensitive to the trends of fashion. The company has no dress code, young employees, and an energetic and flexible organizational culture. Despite employees’ young age, they can have an opportunity to become team managers if they are qualified, and there is a job rotation system in that company. More than 50% of employees are women, so it’s crucial to balance work and life.

Q. How is the company contributing to a community?

A. The purpose of companies is to make more profits. I believe that profits should be shared with society, customers and employees. Therefore, we established the “Sejung Nanum Foundation” and have helped the marginalized and neglected class in society. It has been running programs such as the Restoration of Love House, supporting necessities for an underprivileged class, and university scholarships. We do social contribution activities, including charity bazaars in which employees participate and a salary fraction system.

Q. What do you think about the solution to young generations’ outmigration to the metropolitan area due to employment?

A. I feel bad about young generations’ outmigration. I guess the most fundamental point is the quality of employment. Many companies have been growing in Busan, but in the end, management functions often move to Seoul. Busan should also give the young generation opportunities and rewards as much as Seoul does.

After being hired, talented individuals in provinces are highly adaptable and firmly devoted to the company. They can concentrate on their own work steadily because they can work with their families in the hometown where they grew up. We continue to maintain central management functions in Busan, actively recruit talented individuals in Busan, and also focus on fostering talented individuals in provinces. It is the responsibility of companies in provinces to grow themselves and create employment for talented individuals in provinces.

Q. What do you want to say to students who want to work at SEJUNG?

A. The company wants talented individuals who will grow up with this unpredictable but fun and exciting business as fashion with passion and grit. I would like you to show your passion for fashion and SEJUNG, more than any qualifications. I will wait for that.
