Various booths and events will come to Siwol-Je, which will be held from November 1st, in honor of the Buma Democratic protests.

Siwol-je Festival in honor of the Bu-Ma Democratic Protests will be held from November 8th to 10th.

Pusan National University (PNU) Emergency Planning Committee (EPC) recently announced that Siwol-je, under the theme of "Holding the End of October," will be held on the Nuknukhan-Teo (Nuk-Teo) stage and around PNU.

Siwol-je 2022 consists of programs such as interactive and promotion booths, talk concert, music concert, and food trucks, as well as events to commemorate the Bu-Ma Democratic Protests. The main program was organized by student supporters who were recruited in August. The Siwol-je supporters consist of a total of 39 students that include executive members of the student council and open recruitment students and consist of one public relations team and six project teams. Lee Seon-jung (Dept. of Economics, 22), a student supporter, said, “I applied to do meaningful activities in my university life. And I learned that making one festival takes a lot of effort.”

At Nuk-Teo stage, Healing Concert, 40th Anniversary Alumni Concert of College of Arts, talk concerts, and Performances of Departments and Clubs will be held. At the talk concert, writer Chae Sa-Jang will give a lecture, and the Healing Concert will be staged by invited singers Park Hye-Won (HYNN) and Zico. EPC plans to distribute all 4,500 seats by order of arrival and operate a separate entrance gate for students and outsiders. Kim Yo-Seop (Dept. of Korean Education, 20) who is Director of Strategic Planning of the EPC, said, “We will use our own manuals such as mobile student ID cards to limit outsiders' access as much as possible and make efforts to make this a festival that members of our school can enjoy first.”

You can also enjoy a variety of food and experience booths. A total of 20 food trucks, including sushi, chicken gang-jeong (sweet and sour chicken), and churros, will be installed in the area from the 6th Engineering Building to the Humanities Building. An experience and promotion booth where various clubs and organizations will run their own programs will be set up at Nuk-Teo. Club busking performances will be held on the simple stage in front of the NC Department Store. In addition, an indoor escape room will be arranged in the niche learning space of the Moon-chang hall, and special audio broadcasts produced in collaboration with "Channel PNU" will be transmitted throughout the Nuk-Teo and Jang-seung-teo from 12 PM and 1 PM to enrich the festival.

The main program of Siwol-je is a commemorative event of Bu-Ma Democratic Protests. The EPC along with the Bu-Ma Democratic Protests Memorial Foundation will conduct a tour of Buma-gil, exhibitions, quiz programs (Catch The History), and a related movie screening (the movie "The Attorney") to reflect on the meaning of the origin of the Bu-ma Democratic Protests. On November 1st at 4PM, a unique concert will be held on the busking stage to sing songs which were banned during the protest. Director Kim, said, “Through Siwol-je festival, I hope we look back our history of gathering our hearts for democracy in the past and take pride as PNU students."
