"Channel PNU" heard stories about the balanced national development and the development plans of Webcash through a written interview with Webcash CEO, Kang Won-Joo on August 11th. CEO Kang said that it is the task of companies to create decent jobs in the provinces to attract young people and to realize a balanced national development.

Q. Webcash opened the Busan IT Center on June 23rd. What does WebCash think about the value and growth direction of Busan?

Webcash plans to actively secure excellent ICT workforces in the Busan-Gyeongnam area through the Busan IT Center. In addition, it plans to distribute the functions and workforce of the metropolitan R&D center to the provinces. It will enable effective management even in disaster situations such as COVID-19. Busan IT Center of Webcash plans to hire more than 30 local talents every year, increasing the current workforce of 15 to a maximum of 150. As a result, the Busan IT Center will take a role as a base in the southeast region of Korea of Webcash.

Q. What do you think is the best way to keep young people from leaving the provinces?

Decent jobs should be provided in the provinces, and work-life balance should be achieved. Webcash Busan IT Center is expected to play a significant role in nurturing and fostering information and communication talents in Busan through the "Recruitment-Linked Information and Communication Specialist Academy," which has been running since the beginning of this year.

Faithfulness · Sincerity · Honesty are essential matters in the company's operation and are the most fundamental management ideology to sustain the company. Customer Focused Webcash is a management philosophy in which the ideas of products and services come from customers. Webcash always listens to customers' opinions and strives to increase their value through good products.

Infrastructure & Ownership is a management philosophy that allows employees to take ownership of themselves and develops employees by expanding the infrastructure. A Good company summarizes the above management philosophy in one keyword, and I think it is the direction Webcash Group wants to achieve.

Q. What are your goals for the future? 

Operating profits of Webcash are expected to increase more in the second half of the year, and it is expected that it will be possible to achieve this year's target of KRW 100 billion in sales. Webcash is spurring overseas business expansion for future growth. This year, Webcash launched a corporate money management solution suitable for Vietnam and China. In the future, in Japan, China, Cambodia, and Vietnam, where there are local subsidiaries, we will expand the supply of global corporate money management solutions to Korean companies.

Q. Is there anything you want to say to the young people in Busan-Gyeongnam?

Webcash Group started as a startup in Busan about 20 years ago. It is significant that Webcash Group, which returned to Busan after some time, opened the Busan IT Center. I hope that the Busan IT Center will become a place where the creativity and passion of young people in Busan-Gyeongnam can be expressed.
